Gasconade County R-2 Board of Education member Keith Glaser resigned from his seat on May 22, with 11 months left to his three-year term.
According to the minutes from last Friday’s special meeting, Glaser’s resignation was accepted with a 6-0 vote. Assistant Superintendent Dr. Staci Johnson said on Tuesday that the board would be filling the vacancy.
“He put in for personal reasons, that he needed to focus on that for now,” Johnson said when asked about Glaser’s reasons for leaving. “The board discussed the process to fill the vacancy. We feel it’s very important that we have a full board so we can operate efficiently. They plan to fill the seat at the next regularly scheduled meeting so we can move forward.”
Anyone interested in filling the remaining 11 months of Glaser’s term should fill out an application and submit it to the Administration Building. The application can be found online by visiting www.dutchmen.us or be picked up at the Administration Building.
