OWENSVILLE — The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports two women collided head-on Friday morning on Highway 19 north of the Hickory Lake subdivision near the Bem community.
According to the MSHP report by Trooper J.P. Heil, a 71-year-old Steelville woman, 71, was driving north in a 2022 Kia Forte when she crossed the centerline and struck the front of a southbound 2021 Jeep Compass driven by a 72-year-old Owensville woman.
Both women had moderate injuries and both were transported by Owensville Area Ambulance District personnel to hospitals for treatment. The Steelville woman went to Phelps Health in Rolla and the Owensville woman was taken to Mercy Washington. Triple L Towing removed both vehicles which had total damage.
The June 12 crash was reported at 7:50 a.m. and backed up traffic in both directions for about a half hour. Both women were wearing seat belts, according to the MSHP report.
Heil also worked a crash at 10:15 a.m. Monday where a 73-year-old Washington man driving a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pulling a trailer struck a bridge traveling west on Lahmeyer Road west of Route A. The towed trailer went off the road. The driver had minor injuries and was transported by Osage ambulance personnel for treatment at Mercy Washington. The vehicle had moderate damage and was removed from the scene by Owens Towing. The driver was wearing his seat belt in the June 15 crash.
