The Gerald Area Library is now ready to accept debit/credit cards, and online donations. They can even accept online payments for events such as their upcoming Paint N Sip later this month.
Board president Marianne Netscher hopes this will make it easier for folks to spend money at the library’s bookstore and at their treasures table.
The library receives no tax money. It is run completely on donations, fund-raisers and volunteer labor.
Ongoing money makers include paper recycling, selling used books, frequent sidewalk sales and beverage sales.
The library recently reinstituted a monthly pledge system, whereby patrons can opt to donate a specified amount each month. The online payment system should make that easier for people to contribute.
It may take a week or two to get all volunteers completely trained, so please be patient.
