At Monday’s meeting of the Gerald Library’s board of directors, a discussion was held on how to better serve the community.
It was decided to take action on an idea they had been kicking around for a while.
The library will begin to lend items, as well as books, to their patrons. Some items suggested were folding tables and chairs, board games, specialty cake pans, tools, and other items.
The library already has some of these items, they hope the public will also donate items they no longer use. The library is also interested to know what items might be useful to add the lending program.
They plan to address this on their Facebook page: Gerald Area Library & Once Upon a Time Bookstore.
The board also discussed starting at least two other programs, a Box of Books sale and offering sidewalk space for pop up sales. They hope to have all programs up and running by this spring.
