In recent voting by basketball coaches from the Four Rivers Conference (FRC), three Dutchgirls and a Dutchmen basketball player were named to their respective All-FRC Basketball teams for their outstanding play during the recently-completed season.

Ryan Flanagan’s Dutchgirls saw senior Breanna Diestelkamp earn an All-FRC First-Team nod while fellow senior Liana Miller and freshman Anna Finley were both selected to the All-FRC Second Team.

Helping Owensville finish 16-12 overall doubling their win total from last year, Diestelkamp averaged a double double of 20.6 points and 10.3 rebounds per game while helping OHS reach the Class 4, District 10 title game before falling to Rolla’s Lady Bulldogs 62-60.

Rolla saw their season end Saturday following a 45-40 loss to Logan-Rogersville in the Class 4 quarterfinals.

During FRC play, Diestelkamp scored a season-high 28 points in a 60-44 victory over Pacific’s Lady Indians.

Diestelkamp’s best game on the glass came against St. Clair with nine rebounds during a 63-58 road loss to the Lady Bulldogs back in mid-January.

In the shot-blocking department, she had a season-high five rejections during a 56-26 win at New Haven.

Overcoming anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries to each of her knees at the beginning of her sophomore and junior seasons, Miller capped an outstanding senior year leading Flanagan’s Dutchgirls as a legitimate outside shooting threat throughout the year.

In seven games during the FRC schedule, Miller posted a season-high 18 points in a 56-47 Jam the Gym loss to Union in a game that the Dutchgirls played without a sick Breanna Diestelkamp.

Liana’s best game on the glass came during their 58-55 senior night loss to Sullivan in which she pulled down to seven rebounds. She also tied a season-high in FRC play with three assists and two steals.

Averaging over 10 points, nearly six assists and five rebounds a game overall, Finley put together a very impressive freshman season in a Dutchgirl basketball uniform.

During the aforementioned senior-night showdown with Sullivan, Finley posted a FRC season-high double double of 18 points and 10 rebounds against the Lady Eagles.

Dutchmen junior Cason Gray helped Owensville to a 9-17 earning All-FRC Second Team honors.

Leading the team averaging 12.4 points per game, Gray was also second on the team in rebounds pulling down 4.9 per game behind senior Brady Smith’s six boards per contest.
