Students at Owensville High School (OHS) were recognized on March 13 for their academic success during the annual Honors Luncheon served by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). The event was organized by Amy Quertermous and Hannah Fletcher, who worked together to plan and coordinate the entire program.
Students invited to the luncheon were required to meet specific criteria, including maintaining a 3.5 GPA throughout the first semester and having at least 95 percent attendance. The event celebrated students who have shown dedication to both academics and being present at school.
The luncheon also featured guest speaker Dallas Heckelman, a 2019 OHS graduate, insurance agent, veteran of the U.S. Navy, and cancer survivor. Heckelman spoke to students about perseverance and “How life isn’t always a straight line.”
The event recognized students for their commitment to academic excellence and encouraged them to continue striving for success.
