Albert Herman Bauer, 80, Leslie, passed away Dec. 29, 2025.
He was born March 27, 1945, son to the late Fred Bauer and Laura (née Banken) in Leslie.
He attended Holy Family School in Port Hudson.
Albert served his country in the U.S. Army.
He was united in marriage to Rita Patke Oct. 28, 1967, at St. Francis Borgia Church in Washington.
Albert worked as a carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Laura; brothers, Joseph, Fred, John, Benjamin, Theon and Anthony; and sisters, Mary Anna and Roseline.
Albert was survived by wife, Rita; son, Douglas Bauer and wife Melissa of Rosebud; daughters, Michelle Landwehr and husband Jeffrey of Washington, Tammy Olszowka and husband Michael of Union, Cindy Koenigsfeld and husband Ted of Union and Jennifer Zimmermann and husband Anton of Leslie; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four sisters-in-law.
Funeral Mass was held Jan. 2, at Holy Family Church in Port Hudson, with Rev. Jim Foster officiating.
Interment followed in the church cemetery with military honors.
Memorial contributions suggested to Holy Family Church or for masses.
