Betty Lou Blackwell, 93, Owensville, passed away Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Washington.
She was born July 12, 1932, to the late Eli and Orpha (Reed) Pierce.
She was united in marriage to LaRue William Blackwell June 1, 1952, in Red Bird.
Betty enjoyed doing word search puzzles and spending time with family. She was a very caring, special person.
She was preceded in death by husband, LaRue; parents, Eli and Orpha; grandson, Samuel Blackwell; brothers, Boyd, Roe and Eli, Jr. Pierce; and sisters, Lillian Schlottach and Margie Blackwell.
Betty is survived by children, Connie Blackwell of Rosebud and Steve Blackwell and special friend Laura Livell of Owensville; grandchildren, Tonia Hazel and husband Nick of Owensville, Abbey and Ben Blackwell, both of Kansas City; and great-grandchildren, Kyah and Tristyn Weirich.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 5, followed by funeral services at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, with Pastor Corey Nicks officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in St. James.
