Chris Leibach’s Hermann Lady Bearcat softball team had the luxury last week of playing all three of their game at Dick Ochsner Ball Park facing Wright City last Monday, St. James last Tuesday and New Bloomfield last Thursday.

Closing the week against New Bloomfield’s Lady Wildcats, Hermann trailed 5-0 before a nine-run top of the sixth inning left the Lady Bearcats on the short end of a 14-0 final score in six innings against the Lady Wildcats.

Delilah Nobel had both hits for Hermann against New Bloomfield while Taylor Carver took the tough luck loss pitching five innings allowing five runs (three earned) and three hits with no walks and four strikeouts.

Facing St. James for the third time last Tuesday, Hermann needed a nine-run inning of their own in the bottom of the fourth to post a 22-7 victory in five innings.

Carver led the Lady Bearcat offense with three hits, three runs scored and five runs batted in (RBI).

Alivia Witthaus had the other multi-hit game for Hermann finishing with two hits, two runs scored, two walks and two RBIs.

Also collecting hits for the blue and white against St. James were Coraline Nobel, Penny Cramer, Charlee Englert, Delilah Nobel and Harper Priess.

Kimber Hale also walked three times and scored three runs.

Priess, Hale and Delilah Nobel each scored three runs for Hermann while Lady Bearcats scoring twice included Cramer, Witthaus and Coraline Nobel.

Opening the week last Monday against Wright City’s Lady Wildcats, Hermann plated seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull within a run at 8-7 after six innings.

Wright City then answered with a seven-run top of the seventh leaving Hermann on the wrong side of a 15-7 final score.

Molly Scheer, Cramer and Hale each had two hits against the Lady Wildcats while Delilah Nobel drove in a team-high four RBIs.

Ending their regular season last night (Tuesday) at Lutheran St. Charles, Hermann will open the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Class 2, District 2 Softball Tournament tomorrow (Thursday) night in Elsberry against Louisiana’s Lady Bulldogs with a 5 p.m., first pitch.
