The Gasconade County Historical Society will hold its last quarterly membership meeting of the year on Sunday, Oct. 19, beginning at 2 p.m. at St. James Charlotte Church. GCHS membership meetings are open to everyone. There is no charge to attend.
Following a short business meeting, Jodi Lewis of Moberly will give a demonstration on cemetery “dowsing” that is used to help locate lost grave sites. This method is often used by genealogists in search of a known family cemetery or those looking for missing graves.
The dowsing program will be held in the cemetery next to the St. James Charlotte Church, located just off Highway 50 between Drake and Rosebud.
This will also be the meeting for drawing the winner of the 2025 quilt raffle. Tickets for the raffle will be sold at the meeting.
