James Arthur Borcherding, 89, Hermann, passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025, at New Haven Care Center in New Haven.
He was born March 9, 1936, to the late Arthur and Viola (Monje) Borcherding in New Haven.
He was united in marriage to Barbara Bell Dec. 7, 1985, in St. Louis.
James has worked for Kellwood Company, Brown Shoe Company and United Van Lines.
He is survived by wife, Barbara of Hermann; son, Eric Borcherding and wife Jessie of Denver, Colo.; daughter, Shannon Sandefer and husband Pete of New Haven; sisters, Beulah Helling of Mexico, Mutzie Hiatte of St. Charles and Ruthie Bredemeyer of Hermann; brothers, Sonny Borcherding, Lloyd Borcherding and wife Dorothy and Howard Borcherding and wife Sandy, all of New Haven; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m., Friday, Nov.14, followed by a memorial service at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home in New Haven. Memorial contributions suggested to St. Peter’s United Church of Christ. Arrangements entrusted to Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home in Hermann.
