Marsha Rae Ruettgers, 68, Lake Ozark, formerly of Owensville, passed away Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born Aug. 8, 1957, to the late Gustav Hubert (GH) and Iline (Medley) Garver in Washington.
She was united in marriage to Duane Ruettgers Sept. 18, 1976, at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Owensville.
Marsha was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville.
She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandma (nannie). Marsha enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Whether that was going to sporting events, brunch, or traveling, but she especially liked boating, swimming and time on the dock with her grandchildren.
One of her favorite places to travel was to their home in Ft. Myers, Fla.
Marsha went back to college 25 years after high school and was very proud to have graduated with a 3.75 grade point average.
She was preceded in death by parents, GH and Iline; and daughter, Anitra Diane Ruettgers.
Marsha is survived by husband, Duane; children, Nicholas Ruettgers and wife Mary of Smithton, Ill. and Jenna Smith and husband Harrison; grandchildren, Haylee, Raelyn and Madelyn of Lake St. Louis and Donovan Ruettgers and wife Brittany of Raymore;and sister, Linda Huerner and husband Jerome of Rosebud.
Visitation was held from 4 until 8 p.m., (today) Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m.,Thursday, Dec. 11, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville with Fr. Philip Kane officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions suggested to Siteman Cancer Center.
