Running for the first time at home this fall, Owensville Middle School (OMS) and Owensville High School (OHS) cross country runners teamed up last Tuesday to keep four team championship plaques and 15 medals in town following all five races of the Owensville Invitational Cross Country meet ran throughout the Gasconade County R-2 campus.
Tyler Ahring’s OMS Dutchmen started the day taking four of the top seven spots individually helping them capture a team title scoring 33 team points ahead of Rolla (84), Bland (94), Union (106), St. James (135), Hermann (136), Pacific (162), New Haven (215) and Cuba (217).
Earning medals with their top-10 finishes for OMS’ Dutchmen were Trace Lange (4th, 12:21.46), Roman Crowe (5th, 12:53.95), Brock Rutledge (6th, 12:57.88) and Trevin Nolting (7th, 13:04.07).
Also helping the orange and black to a middle school boys team title were Robbie Rodriguez (11th, 13:18.31), Max Altemeyer (12th, 13:21.71), Trace Ridder (17th, 13:47.99), Anthony Grube (18th, 13:53.98), Kyle Korff (22nd, 14:10.68), Liam Kramme (23rd, 14:13.52), Bentley Crews (28th, 14:34.81), Zeke Johnson (29th, 14:39.14), Garrett Ringeisen (33rd, 14:51.97), Dustin Manson (37th, 15:03.99), Jace Duerr (40th, 15:28.83), Braden Kemp (43rd, 15:33.36), Brady Rutledge (46th, 15:36.03), Matthew Allen (51st, 15:51.20), Seth Mitcham (53rd, 15:53.94), Ricky Ringeisen (55th, 16:13.85), Michael Anderson (59th, 16:18.64), Daven Dietrich (60th, 16:19.30), Noah Anderson (67th, 16:36.56), Carter Price (68th, 16:40.91), Ayden Gutermuth (72nd, 17:13.93), Brahm Winter (75th, 17:37.84), Logan Hackstedt (77th, 17:48.92), Alexander Pratt (94th, 19:26.61), Leland Hengstenberg (102nd, 20:12.95), Isaac Dablemont (109th, 21:29.37) and Avery Salamone (115th, 23:47.58).
Behind the medal-winning duo of Kennedy Reams (3rd, 14:33.59) and Bella Daniels (4th, 14:34.03), OMS’ Dutchgirls made it a clean sweep of the middle school team titles finishing with 41 team points edging Rolla (45), Pacific (65), Union (80), Hermann (128) and Sullivan (149).
OMS runners following Reams and Daniels across the finish line were Adreahna Leach (12th, 15:19.06), Alexis Christensen (13th, 15:27.41), Jolie Vandegriffe (18th, 16:19.22), Alexandra Leach (26th, 17:09.68), Ambrosiah Salamone (33rd, 19:07.12), Aisha Santos (36th, 19:12.60), Ella Niederer (37th, 19:15.71), Sophia Beard (54th, 22:51.20), Allyson Smith (56th, 22:56.76) and Emmaline Dozier (64th, 26:30.49).
Taking the top three spots in the junior varsity boys race, Owensville’s trio of Dylan Dietrich (1st, 21:03.08), Hunter Anderson (2nd, 21:05.52) and Nick Hinson (3rd, 21:20.92), helped the orange and black to their third team title of the day scoring 25 points to top Rolla (47), Hermann (63) and Sullivan (90).
Aaiden Cox (11th, 22:44.02) and Bryce Kramme (14th, 22:58.16) also earned medals for the JV Dutchmen by finishing inside the top 15.
Other orange and black harriers in the JV boys race included Dane Dietrich (18th, 23:20.55), Christian Steele (21st, 23:48.13), Dominick Eikermann (30th, 25:19.12) and Ethan Blankenship (38th, 27:30.86).
Three varsity Dutchmen also ran their way to medals led by race winner Zach Holtmeyer in a first-place time of 16:46.95.
Drake Dietrich (12th, 18:39.14) and Cristopher Reyes (14th, 18:45.23) also collected medals for their top-15 finishes.
OHS varsity boys also helping the orange and black to a team title with 58 points included Ty Price (21st, 19:21.35), Westin Kramme (24th, 19:33.94) and Grayson Lairmore (27th, 19:55.32).
Hannah Gehlert was the lone varsity Dutchgirl to keep a medal in town following her fourth-place time 21:24.16 helping Owensville fourth as a team with 119 points behind Pacific (46), Union (47) and Hermann (75).
Varsity Dutchgirls crossing the finish line after Gehlert included Ella Davidson (31st, 25:11.87), Leah Hayes (35th, 25:48.07), Leola Hamann (48th, 26:46.49), Abbey Quilacio (51st, 27:11.29), Meredith Reed (58th, 28:43.93), Morgen Schmidt (59th, 28:57.52) and Annalise Dryer (60th, 29:53.73).
Competing yesterday (Tuesday) on their home course again during the annual Four Rivers Conference (FRC) cross country meet, Owensville will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 1 during the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Class 3, District 3 meet hosted by Linn High School at the Osage County Fairgrounds.
