BELLE — Having to wait an extra day due to inclement weather, Keely Uthlaut’s Hermann Middle School (HMS) cross country teams competed last Wednesday in the Belle Invitational at Belle City Park during a meet that was moved back a day from last Tuesday.
By the time both middle school races had concluded, Kennedy Schwenk and a duo of Bearcat harriers left Maries County with medals following their top-20 finishes.
Schwenk led the contingency of Lady Bearcat harriers with a 19th-place time of 15:19.24.
Also helping Hermann place seventh as a team with 150 points were Kylee Schweighauser (38th, 17:52.92), Ellison Calvert (42nd, 18:01.29), Sidney Heldt (43rd, 18:19.98), Natalie Englert (47th, 18:52.67), Kylie VandeVoorde (48th, 18:55.08) Jenna Fredrick (49th, 18:56.96), Olivia Waechter (52nd, 19:13.31), Kyah Humphrey (59th, 21:23.53), Audrey Talamante (61st, 22:13.45), Iris Pottebaum (62nd, 23:24.88), Lillian Luckett (63rd, 23:32.33), Abigail Heisel (64th, 23:39.65) and Ella Grace Carr (65th, 27:09.05).
HMS’ Bearcats placed fifth as a team in Belle with 124 points led by the duo of Jaxon Kallmeyer (9th, 12:51.73) and Matthew Talent (15th, 13:02.20) finishing in the top 20 putting themselves in medal position.
Other Bearcat harriers competing in Belle included Laramie Bristow (13:14.92), Lane Bristow (41st, 14:29.83), Wade Lane (42nd, 14:31.68), Teagan Rucker (58th, 15:16.37), Henry Lindahl (69th, 15:47.55), Caleb Pohlmann (80th, 17:11.24), Kayden Brinker (81st, 17:20.54), Ivan Rudzinski (86th, 17:49.53) and William Traub (91st, 18:30.64).
