OMS Cross Country sweeps team titles at St. James

A run at Maramec Springs Park outside of St. James turned out to be a productive one last Tuesday for Owensville Middle School (OMS) cross country teams coached by Tyler Ahring and Shane Hunt.

Once both middle school races were in the books, a total of two team championship plaques and 11 medals made their way back to Owensville.

In the boys race, Owensville had six boys in the top 13 led by race winner Trace Lange’s first-place time of 9:08.34.

Lange was followed in the medals by fellow OMS Dutchmen harriers Robbie Rodriguez (3rd, 9:27.84), Trevin Nolting (5th, 9:32.57), Roman Crowe (7th, 9:37.42), Brock Rutledge (9th, 9:40.48) and Max Altemeyer (13th, 9:45.33).

Fellow OMS Dutchmen on the course included Anthony Grube (16th, 10:02.73), Trace Ridder (17th, 10:03.56), Kyle Korff (19th, 10:09.92), Jace Duerr (28th, 10:47.52), Ayden Gutermuth (29th, 10:47.95), Bentley Crews (30th, 10:49.28), Zeke Johnson (31st, 10:49.94), Garrett Ringeisen (39th, 11:20.98), Liam Kramme (42nd, 11:25.38), Brady Rutledge (46th, 11:35.32), Michael Anderson (49th, 11:40.97), Matthew Allen (50th, 11:50.26), Braden Kemp (56th, 12:01.90), Noah Anderson (57th, 12:05.05), Seth Mitcham (60th, 12:10.98), Daven Dietrich (62nd, 12:24.23), Brahm Winter (67th, 12:44.94), Carter Price (71st, 13:03.95), Dustin Manson (72nd, 13:04.69), Logan Hackstedt (76th, 13:35.18), Leland Hengstenberg (82nd, 15:02.10), Alexander Pratt (90th, 16:10.85), Kendrick Smith (91st, 16:13.96) and Isaac Dablemont (92nd, 16:14.35).

Owensville (25) topped seven other schools in the middle school boys team standings which included Laquey (76), Union (99), St. James (107), Pacific (120), Salem (138), New Haven (164) and Dixon (177).

In similar fashion, OMS’ Dutchgirls had five in the top 15 led by meet runner-up Alexis Christensen’s second-place time of 10:22.55.

OMS Dutchgirls joining Christensen in the medals included Bella Daniels (3rd, 10:24.25), Kennedy Reams (6th, 10:34.13), Adreahna Leach (11th, 11:07.90) and Jolie Vandegriffe (12th, 11:07.00).

Also helping the Dutchgirls place first with 27 team points included Alexandra Leach (21st, 12:25.50), Aisha Santos (28th, 12:43.89), Ambrosiah Salamone (29th, 12:45.39), Ella Niederer (35th, 13:14.67), Allyson Smith (51st, 17:15.37), Sophia Beard (52nd, 17:30.27) and Emmaline Dozier (54th, 17:52.01).

Competing yesterday (Tuesday) in the Hermann Invitational Cross Country Meet at Loutre Shores Country Club, OMS and OHS Cross Country will host the annual Owensville Invitational on Tuesday, Oct. 14 with racing starting at 4 p.m., throughout the Gasconade County R-2 Owensville campus.
