HERMANN — Owensville Middle School (OMS) and Owensville High School (OHS) had a short, yet productive trip north of the Missouri River last Tuesday during the Hermann Invitational Cross Country meet held at Loutre Shore Country Club.
Once all five races had concluded, a total of 19 medals and two teams plaque made their way back south on Highway 19 to orange and black country.
On the boys side, Owensville’s JV Dutchmen topped the team standings with 41 points ahead of Sullivan (55), Washington (55) and Hermann (63).
OHS was led by Dylan Dietrich’s second-place time of 20:06.75 in addition to fellow medalists Hunter Anderson (4th, 20:29.35), Nick Hinson (8th, 21:05.45) and Aiden Cox (12th, 21:24.31).
Also helping OHS’ JV Dutchmen to a team title in Hermann were Bryce Kramme (18th, 22:07.77), Dane Dietrich (34th, 24:03.50), Dominick Eikermann (35th, 24:05.41), Ethan Blankenship (38th, 24:21.64) and Christian Steele (39th, 24:21.77).
Varsity boys action saw the Dutchmen place second with 50 points behind Hermann’s first-place team total of 41 points.
Led by junior Zach Holtmeyer’s second-place time of 16:35.41, Owensville had their top five runners place inside the top 20 earning themselves medals.
Collecting medals for the varsity Dutchmen following Holtmeyer were Drake Dietrich (6th, 18:00), Cristopher Reyes (10th, 18:12.32), Ty Price (17th, 18:56.45) and Grayson Lairmore (19th, 19:18.08).
Westin Kramme’s rounded out Owensville’s contingency of varsity Dutchmen with a 36th-place time of 20:28.29.
Paced by Trace Lange’s seventh-place time of 12:17.40, OMS’ Dutchmen were edged at the top of the team standings by Troy South with 71 points while Owensville had 72 points in second place.
Joining Lange in the medals were Roman Crowe (9th, 12:25.72), Trevin Nolting (15th, 12:36.38) and Trace Ridder (20th, 12:51.74).
Also on the course for OMS’ Dutchmen were Brock Rutledge (21st, 12:53.57), Max Altemeyer (22nd, 12:56.91), Robbie Rodriguez (29th, 13:22.66), Liam Kramme (30th, 13:33.00), Anthony Grube (37th, 13:42.01), Zeke Johnson (40th, 13:49.11), Kyle Korff (44th, 14:02.89), Bentley Crews (52nd, 14:17.76), Garrett Ringeisen (63rd, 14:36.91), Jace Duerr (71st, 15:03.37), Braden Kemp (78th, 15:11.48), Matthew Allen (79th, 15:12.32), Noah Anderson (89th, 15:13.30), Seth Mitcham (81st, 15:14.01), Ayden Gutermuth (83rd, 15:15.57), Brady Rutledge (86th, 15:21.56), Dustin Manson (97th, 15:47.64), Brahm Winter (114th, 16:35.59), Daven Dietrich (115th, 16:39.13), Carter Price (123rd, 17:16.07), Logan Hackstedt (127th, 17:31.74), Isaac Dablemont (156th, 21:09.74) and Avery Salamone (160th, 26:56.12).
OMS’ Dutchgirls also placed second in the middle school girls team standings with 52 points just behind Troy South’s 46 points.
Posting top-20 finishes good for medals for the orange and black were Bella Daniels (4th, 13:47.74), Kennedy Reams (6th, 14:01.17), Alexis Christensen (13th, 14:24.51), Adreahna Leach (16th, 14:31.08) and Jolie Vandegriffe (20th, 14:46.61).
Rounding out the contingency of OMS Dutchgirls at Hermann were Alexandra Leach (32nd, 15:47.92), Aisha Santos (70th, 18:19.77), Sophia Beard (101st, 21:31.94), Allyson Smith (102nd, 21:38.11) and Emmaline Dozier (109th, 23:05.61).
Owensville’s varsity Dutchgirls placed third as a team with 91 points led by senior Hannah Gehlert’s fourth-place time of 21:32.06.
Also on the course for OHS’ varsity Dutchgirls were Abbey Quilacio (28th, 25:06.13), Leah Hays (29th, 25:06.87), Ella Davidson (30th, 25:07.76), Leola Hamann (38th, 26:00.23), Meredith Reed (47th, 27:41.24), Morgen Schmidt (50th, 28:02.19) and Annalise Dryer (56th, 28:56.50).
Hosting the annual Owensville Cross Country Invitational last night (Tuesday), Matt Candrl’s Dutchmen and Dutchgirls will also host the Four Rivers Conference (FRC) meet on Tuesday, Oct. 21 with racing beginning at 11 a.m.
